Christmas Day Community Dinner

 The Community was invited to a Christmas Day dinner sponsored by our United Methodist Men under the direction of John Mitchell.  The support of our church family was overwhelming with casseroles and side dishes galore.  Turkey and ham was prepared in the Disciple Center kitchen and many hands came to prepare the meal.  Thank you to all who made this possible.  Special thanks to Becky for the pictures below! 

 

 

Food Basket

Each Month Heritage collects food for Churches for Urban Ministry or Timberlake Emergency Assistance Ministry.  A basket of food is presented at the altar on the last Sunday of the month as a symbol of our congregation's commitment to help the hungry in the Lynchburg area.   

 

 

Mission Possible

 Heritage has recently sent several Mission Teams to help the people in the Gulf with additional trips planned in the near future.  HUMC supports Kim King Torres at Branches Ministry in Florida, Betsy Jack with Red Bird Mission in Kentucky, and Jim Gray with UnitedMethodistUniversity in Liberia.  On obeying Christ's mandate to "go and make disciples of all nations" means supporting His work locally, nationally, and around the world.
