Frank M. Newell

Pastor

Pastor Frank M. Newell

Rev. Frank Newell has served the Mississippi United Methodist Conference for the past two decades. He was raised in Petal, Mississippi, and was a member of the former Petal United Methodist Church. He graduated from Petal High School in 2001, Jones County Junior College in 2003, and the University of Southern Mississippi in 2005. Subsequently, he attended Memphis Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee, and earned a Master of Divinity degree in 2009.

During his tenure at Memphis Theological Seminary, Rev. Newell served churches in Fulton and Tupelo. Upon graduation, he continued his ministry in Jasper, Copiah, Yazoo, and Sharkey Counties. His most recent appointment is as the Associate Director of UMCOR & UMVIM for the Mississippi Annual Conference.

As all Christians are ministers, Rev. Newell adheres to a philosophy of collaborative ministry. He believes that ministry should be a collaborative endeavor where all voices are heard, with a focus on loving God and loving one’s neighbor. Together, we are part of the body of Christ.
